Marc Sledge

Director, Air and Marine Operations
Great Lakes Air and Marine Branch
U.S. Customs and Border Protection

Director Sledge oversees the mission to assist in port security support operations, coastal/lakes and inland waterway border security, and supports U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, & Homeland Security Investigations operations within the branch’s area of responsibility.

He began his career as a USMC AH-1W Super Cobra pilot. In 2008, Director Sledge joined federal service as an Air Interdiction Agent in New Orleans, where he qualified as Pilot in Command in the CE-550, BE-200, and DHC-8. He was later promoted to Supervisory Air Interdiction Agent and led the branch’s DHC-8 Maritime Surveillance Group. In 2015, Director Sledge was selected as the Deputy Director for the National Air Training Center. He was then selected as the Director, Directorate of Standardization and Evaluation where he was responsible for ensuring safety through inspections, training and evaluations, and compliance. Director Sledge has logged more than 3,000 hours of flight time and holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel.
